Enter the number of active emitters, rated flow for each emitter, and runtime. The calculator reports combined hourly flow and estimated total volume delivered during one event.

Eight emitters rated at 2 liters per hour provide 16 liters per hour. Running them for 15 minutes delivers an estimated 4 liters in total.

Rated flow and actual flow

Emitter labels describe performance within a specified pressure range. Real flow can differ because of pressure loss, elevation, tubing length, filters, mineral buildup, clogged outlets, and manufacturing tolerance. Pressure-compensating emitters can improve uniformity but still require checking.

Perform a catch test

Place measuring cups under several emitters and run the system for a known time. Compare collected volumes, calculate the actual average rate, and investigate large differences. Use measured flow in the calculator for better scheduling.

System planning tips

• Confirm the pump supports total flow at operating pressure.
• Include all emitters that can run simultaneously.
• Flush lines and service filters regularly.
• Check end-of-line emitters as well as those near the pump.

The result assumes constant flow throughout the event. Validate delivery at the containers before relying on the schedule.
